Clamping boards for load securing - Trucks, trailers & vans
The Sandax aluminium clamping board with rubber feet on both sides and a spring system is suitable for flexible use. With its continuously adjustable range and its intelligent clamping mechanism, it is a versatile product. The clamping rod is suitable for all widths and heights between 2350mm and 2720mm and is adjusted in the vehicle by means of a rack and pinion and a lever. The clamping board is light, stable and durable. The load is clamped positively, vertically or horizontally between the vehicle walls. Positive locking means the seamless loading of the cargo.
It is ideally suited for load securing in trucks with box bodies, sprinters, vans or box trailers. The standard version has a blocking force of up to 150 daN.
Applications of clamping boards for load securing
Clamping boards are used horizontally on the loading area of the truck or van. Like the other products from the range of mechanical load securing, the aluminium boards prevent the load from shifting. After insertion, the loading board is tensioned by means of a tensioning device and a lever.

Installation and use of clamping boards
The correct installation and use of clamping boards is crucial for effective load securing. Proper handling not only ensures the safety of the transported goods, but also protects the transport vehicle and increases general road safety.Step-by-step installation instructions:
- Positioning: Choose the appropriate place in the cargo area where the clamping board should be attached.
This depends on the type and shape of the load as well as the structure of the cargo area.
- Length adjustment: Adjust the length of the clamping board to the cargo area. Most
clamping boards are telescopically adjustable so that they can be clamped precisely between the walls of the cargo area.
- Fixation: Use the clamping mechanism of the clamping board to secure it firmly between the walls
of the cargo area. Make sure that the board sits firmly and cannot slip.
- Regular maintenance: Check the clamping boards regularly for signs of wear and damage. Replace damaged parts immediately to ensure safety.
- Cleaning: Keep the clamping boards clean to maintain their functionality and longevity.
Dirt and deposits can impair effectiveness.
- Personnel training: Ensure that all employees entrusted with load securing
are trained accordingly and know how to handle the clamping boards correctly.
Areas of application and advantages of clamping boards
Clamping boards are popular for their versatility and efficiency in load securing. They offer not only a robust solution for the transport sector, but also guarantee that goods arrive safely and undamaged at their destination. The areas of application extend from commercial to private transport tasks.Versatile application possibilities:
- Commercial transport: In the logistics industry, clamping boards are used to secure cargo in trucks,
containers and on trailers. They are particularly useful for transporting palletised goods,
crates or other packaged goods that need to be stabilised.
- Personal use: Clamping boards are also used in smaller vehicles such as vans or car trailers
to transport personal items or moving boxes safely.
- Special vehicles and applications: Clamping boards are also important in special vehicles such as motorhomes or
when transporting sensitive equipment, where they contribute to the stable and secure fixation
of the load.
- Protection of the load: Clamping boards prevent cargo from shifting during transport, which could lead to
damage or even loss.
- Quick and easy application: The simple handling and quick adaptability of the clamping boards
saves time and increases efficiency in load securing.
- Adaptability: Due to the adjustable properties, they can be used in a variety of
cargo area sizes, making them a universal tool in load securing.
- Increasing safety: By effectively securing the load, clamping boards also contribute to
road safety by minimising the risk of accidents caused by shifting cargo.
Important functions of clamping boards
Clamping boards, also known as load securing rods, are designed to fill the space between the cargo and the walls of the means of transport and thus fix the load safely. They can be made of different materials such as aluminium or steel and often feature additional elements like rubber feet or clamping mechanisms that offer better adhesion and flexibility.Materials and designs:
- Aluminium clamping boards: Light,
corrosion-resistant and ideal for most transport needs. Often equipped with rubber feet to
prevent damage to the load or the vehicle.
- Steel clamping boards: Provides higher
strength and durability, suitable for heavier loads or more demanding environments.
Adjustability and adaptability
Clamping boards play a central role in load securing, a critical area in transport. They serve to secure cargo during transport to prevent shifts, damage or accidents. Clamping boards are used in a variety of vehicles, including trucks, sprinters, vans and car trailers.Relevance of clamping boards in practice
The use of clamping boards is virtually indispensable in various transport environments to ensure load safety. They are particularly important in:br>- Trucks and larger vehicles: Here they secure everything from pallets to irregularly shaped
goods.
- Vans and trailers: In
these vehicles they help to transport smaller loads safely, which is particularly important on long or
rough journeys.
Buying advice for clamping boards
Selecting the right clamping board is crucial to maximise load safety and meet the requirements of specific transport tasks. Here are some important considerations to help you make the best choice for your needs:Material and construction:
- Aluminium vs. steel: Choose aluminium for a lightweight, corrosion-resistant option that is easy
to handle. Steel offers more strength and is suitable for heavier loads.
- Rubber feet: Models with rubber feet provide additional grip and protect the cargo as well as the
interior walls of the vehicle from damage.
- Take into account the size of the cargo area and the variety of cargo types you want to transport. Adjustable clamping boards that can be adapted in length offer flexibility for
different cargo area sizes and cargo types.
- Consider the specific challenges your loading situations entail. For example,
special clamping boards for airline tracks or those with a special coating for sensitive
cargo might be required.
- Invest in high-quality clamping boards that are durable and reliable. Compare
prices and check whether higher costs are justified by additional features or improved materials.
- Choose products from reputable manufacturers and suppliers who offer good warranty services and
customer support. Check reviews and customer feedback to assess the reliability and service
of the provider.
Remember that the safety of your cargo and the efficiency of your transport depend heavily on the quality and suitability of the clamping boards used. Therefore, take the time to carefully review the available options and find the best solution for your needs.
